I am an experienced senior leader with commercial and Human Resources expertise spanning over 20 years in a number of UK and Global FTSE 100 companies in both the retail and telecommunications sectors. I have held a number of global HR director roles leading large teams of HR specialists and delivering transformational change. I have a strong track record of delivering strategic people programmes and improving employee engagement.
But that’s half the story. This amazing career left me burnt out whilst pregnant with my second son and I was constantly conflicted between being the parent I wanted to be and being able to give what was expected at work. I reached breaking point 14 weeks into a difficult pregnancy and I knew I would not be able to return to my role. I stumbled through with the support of my amazing team to the earliest date I could start maternity leave and I took the opportunity to forge a new path outside the corporate world.
So since 2014 I have been fortunate to immerse myself in what I love and concentrated on my executive coaching practice to support other women in their professional and personal development journeys. My coaching practice is based on approaches from positive and coaching psychology that seeks to leverage character strengths, develop personal resilience, understand values and clarify purpose in life. I specialise in coaching women in their 40’s and beyond, who are often at pivotal points in their professional careers and/or personal development journeys, using a woman-centred coaching approach.
I have a bachelor degree in English from the University of London, a Master of Science in Organisation Change from Ashridge Business School, I am a graduate of the RBL HR Learning Partnership (University of Michigan) and hold a Master of Science in Applied Positive and Coaching Psychology (University of East London). I am a qualified executive coach (Henley Management College) and accredited on a range of psychometric tools including Strengthscope and NEO-3Pi.
I am an avid reader, a keen traveller and love entertaining friends and family. I have an interest in all things psychology and making work work for women. At home, I can be found doing all the things a parent with busy boys aged 9 and 13 do - providing a constant stream of snacks, encouraging the learning of spellings and the completion of homework, washing school uniform, co-ordinating a variety of activities, and also making sure they (and me!) have some down time. I also spend an inordinate amount of time planning for a renovation of our 200 year old oast house which has been 6 years in the making and yet to begin!
